FEARS & DREAMS
Mankind has always strived to build new tools, to expand its productivity. Fears & Dreams looks at iconic engineering revolutions from the First World War and blends them to create a contemplative snapshot of a moment in History. We can invent incredible things like flying machines, and at the same time, more ethically concerning concepts like the mass production of weapons.
THE BEST AND THE WORST
This collection was designed to commemorate the centennial of the First World War. Each item is a combination of the most common plane and handgun operated by the United Kingdom, France and Germany. It is fascinating to notice the different engineering and design solutions used to reach the same objective. To fly, and to win.
FROM DIGITAL TO TANGIBLE
The second part of this project was to bring this item to life. Using 3D software and 3D resin printing techniques, the Fokker/ Mauser model was printed, assembled and painted. This proof of concept validates the idea that it can be made out of metal, which will be my next step.
